Please post the contents (1 line per file?) of each of these files.

You should not have removed either line. The first is very important
in making sure the LIRC devices can be located correctly by the
system. The second line ensures that the ivtv modules is loaded before
the lirc_i2c module (which I alluded to above).

Restore the lines you deleted above, and retry. When I stated you do
not need them first, I meant you do not need them listed first, not
you do not need them at all. Finally, please do not top-post.
