/home/mythtv/.lircrc -> /home/mythtv/.mythtv/lircrc

Only thing I see here is that the case doesn't match, but that doesn't
stop the remote working for myth. Could that be stopping it from working
with xine?

Not sure, but everything I've read makes it sound like it should be
enabled when installing the rpm packages.

I get:
liblirc_client.so.0 => /usr/lib/liblirc_client.so.0 (0x00205000)
