The argument was "--do_channel_updates", but every other other
mythfilldatabase argument with multiple words separated by some
character used the dash rather than the underline, so mythfilldatabase
was changed to advertise (hint, hint--see "mythfilldatabase --help") the
use of "--do-channel-updates" for consistency, but still allows the old
"--do_channel_updates". However, they are the same argument.

Any time your channel lineup changes more than a little,
http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/mythtv/users/264034#264034 . How
much is "more than a little?" Well, if you try to fix the channels and
it doesn't work, that means it changed more than a little.
IMHO, it's easiest just to do it right the first time--in other words,
just use the approach in the linked post any time something changes.
Doing so also has the advantage of keeping your DB as clean as possible.
