[mythtv-users] TiVo Convert Experience - HDTV Video Card Recommendation

My project is moving along nicely now. I replaced the ATI X850 with an ASUS
nVidia 6200 (AGP) and things are working a lot better. I moved everything
into a Silverstone LC10 case and it looks so much nicer in the entertainment
center. I just received my HDHomeRun today and unboxed it and connected it
up. I ran through the MythTV setup guide from the silicondust.com site and
unfortunately I am unable to get any channels in the scanning portion. I
downloaded and built the hdhomerun_config utility and it scans and located a
bunch of channels so I know the box and antenna are fine. A quick search of
the list shows there are some problems with the current .20 rpm I am using
(mythtv-suite-0.20.1-156.fc6.at) and HDHR channel scan. I also ran a
mythfrontend --vesion and get:

I need to know if it's time to take the plunge and say farewell to my good
friend yum and hello to svn. It just kills me to feel like I am starting
over again when everything except the HDHR setup is working. It looks like
the wiki at http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/index.php/Upgrading_To_SVN has a good
HOWTO on going to SVN. Is trunk the way to go? How does one get to "the
fixes branch"? Is there a way to get the newest without abandoning the
package manager? Any advice is appreciated.

I'm kinda in the same boat.  We have 3 DirecTivos, and a Myth setup in 
the bedroom.  Right now, I'd advise against giving up the DirecTivos for 
now, as Myth has some recording stability issues.

We basically mirror the season passes on the Tivos upstairs, and, 
especially for HD, when they are recorded with too many artifacts to 
watch, we fall back to watching them in the sunroom.

I'm using 2 HDHR's for HD.  I agree that the setup is easy and straight 
forward..  The only issue is watching which version of the RPM's you 
use, as mythtv-setup would not channel scan on occasion.  This issue 
would come and go, based on the date of the RPM's.

But if you get a stable system, it is wonder to behold.  Wife still 
gives a little giggle when the commercial skip works :)
