I also have this problem. I have a shared drive on a WinXP machine.
It's mounted as a cifs on my Myth Box. And when I try to play a file
from that drive, I get slightly choppy video. I thought it's a drive
performance problem. But simple copying a 1h30min video file (~700Mb)
takes only about 10 minutes. 

PCs are connected via Full Duplex 100Mbit Ethernet LAN.

What's wrong?
