[mythtv-users] Think my current myth box can support HD?

Hi,
Just a quick update. Since my original post, I picked up an FX5200 plus
an LCD 1080p TV. I then downloaded a 1080 clip (about 30 seconds worth)
and overwrote one of my existing recordings (on purpose). My reason
being I wanted Myth to think it recorded it so it would be a reasonable
test. Oh, I also updated the HD flag in one of those 'recorded' tables.
While my system was recording some SD content (around 85% idle at the
time), I played the clip. The CPU usage dropped to about 0-6% idle
without xvmc. When I turned on xvmc it went back up to around 40% idle.
This strikes me as pretty good! Obviously if mythcommflag started up
while I was watching a show, I imagine I'd see some problems.
Do you think my test case was sufficient to show that the box can handle
the load or is there something I left out?
Thanks,
Rick
