[mythtv-users] why won't myth play with my PVR-500?

I ran into the same issue when I moved my system from the lab to the living
room. I had somehow lost the capture configuration when the capture cards
were detected in the wrong order. Shut down mythbackend and go back into
mythsetup and confirm the devices are in the right order and associated with
the correct inputs. Also verify that you have the correct capture card type
selected (PVR-XXX). I ended up deleting all of mine and starting fresh,
fixed it right up.
On a side note, does anyone know how to get Outlook 2007 to not top-post?

Subject: [mythtv-users] why won't myth play with my PVR-500?
Hi All,
I recently upgraded my myth box to Ubuntu Feisty 64-bit (from Edgy) and
decided to give my PVR-500 another chance. In the past, the picture was
fuzzy and unwatchable... I figured due to ivtv/kernel issues. Suprisingly,
feisty loaded up the drivers and detected the card just fine. I can even
use the ivtv tools to change the channels, and I captured some nice video
using:
cat /dev/video2 > test.mpg
So, I know the tuners are working. I set up the cards in mythtv-setup, no
apparent problems there. However, when I try to watch TV using either tuner
I just get a black screen for 10 seconds, then I'm returned to the main
menu. Meanwhile, the backend is outputing a continuous stream of the same
message block over and over... I'm at work and don't have the actual text to
share, but I'm wondering if anyone has any pointers?
Thanks,
Greg
