  DirecTV recievers do not have 1394 out of the box.  You can purchase a
highly modified one to supply it but it will cost a lot of $$$$.  As for
recomendataion idk, im a cable tv guy.

4. Any complaints about HDHomeRun or is that a solid investment?


Solid investment.  Works great, reliable, doesnt use PCI slots, no drivers,
easy config.
