Yeah, this is sort of a "Oh, by the way, we're going to hose anything
you might have that refers to a disk be its device name that has been
the same for 25 years".

What were they thinking?

But that always has been a drawback with Linux, if you move drives
around their names change, unlike Solaris or the like. Too bad just
changing hda to sda will not correct this.
