Have you fot your capture cards setup as Hardware MPEG-2 cards in mythtv-setup?

The number '1000' is an arbitrary channel identification number (the
relevant field is called chanid in the database) assigned by MythTV
when you add channels - it is not related to the actual channel number
on the cable tuner. Normally, the first video source added has
channels starting at 1000, the second video source from 2000, etc.
