At the risk of sounding rude (I'm cranky, sue me)...

You should probably start by reading the LIRC documentation. Then  
checking the LIRC website. Maybe even asking on the LIRC list. Don't  
top-post there, either. This is unrelated to mythtv and doesn't  
belong on this list.
