OK, I've added UseEvents.  I did gain about ~6% on my cpu.  Not much but
I switched out motherboards again anyway.  I then realized that I
removed agp=off from my commandline but still had NvAGP set in 1 in my
xorg.conf.  I added agp=off back to my commandline and performance is
actually much better with the new board, approx. 35% cpu usage now.
Unfortunately it still locks up in the program guide, but not near as
often.  It wouldn't be such a problem except that I have to restart the
backend because it still thinks the frontend is using the card.  This
really bites if I have a recording going but want to watch something else.
