[mythtv-users] Can't get remote to talk to mythtv

Hi all -
I have everything just about working. Myth does what it needs to do; I
still have to work on getting transcode to work correctly, but that's
something I can deal with later.
My problem right now is that the remote doesn't seem to work (well, Myth
doesn't respond to it; I do see codes being transmitted with mode2
running).
The daemons are running:
[rcs at vader: ~]$ ps aux | grep lirc
root 2769 0.0 0.0 11300 724 ? Ss 16:17 0:00 lircd
--driver=default --device=/dev/lirc
root 2916 0.0 0.0 2624 248 ? Ss 16:20 0:00 lircmd
rcs 11297 0.0 0.0 4144 708 pts/4 R+ 19:44 0:00 grep lirc
/etc/sysconfig/lircd has it loading up the right modules:
[rcs at vader: ~]$ /sbin/lsmod | grep lirc
lirc_imon 15300 2
lirc_dev 16960 1 lirc_imon
usbcore 125628 10
lirc_imon,usbmouse,usbkbd,usb_storage,ohci_hcd,usbhid,ehci_hcd,uhci_hcd
The system:
SilverStone LM14B Case with VFD/IR receiver and iMON remote
Abit NF8-V motherboard
Athlon-64 single core, 2.4GHz overclocked slightly (2.55GHz)
pcHDTV 5500 tuner cards x 2
Creative Audigy sound card
2GB DDR 400 RAM
2x320G SATA HDD
1x400G PATA HDD
1x160G PATA HDD; 789G as an LVM group for Myth recordings, the rest for
other stuff.
OS: Mandriva 2006, updated, for x86_64; running Linus's kernel 2.6.18rc5
MythTV 0.20a, installed from 64-bit RPMs (as far as I can see, seems to
have been compiled with all options enabled).
I have a Harmony 550 remote and would like to eventually use it...but I
have an lircd.conf file specifically for the iMON remote and will try to
get it working first.
If anyone else can give me a clue as to why Myth doesn't respond to the
remote, I'd appreciate any hints. Thanks!
Bob
