Sorry but you are totally wrong.  I am using Ubuntu Edgy for both my MythTV
boxes.  The install is extremely easy.  I am using IVTV with a hauppauge
card and I didn't compile anything.  Lirc is difficult on any distro, Ubuntu
is no exception.  I highly recommend Ubuntu for MythTV.
