Interesting that you should ask... I just ordered this yesterday:

In short, it is a 5-port SATA PCI card.  It does hardware RAID-3 (I thought 
raid-3 was dead?), but has been discontinued by the manufacturer and 
apparently NewEgg is trying to dump their supply.  I have confirmed that 
Linux can handle this card with a JBOD array, but I have NOT confirmed the 
driver's capacity to do hardware RAID-3.
