[mythtv-users] nvidia 9631 drivers for newest fc6 2911 kernel?

I apologize for the ugly format of my last note on this subject.  I wish I knew why that happened.

So I did a fresh FC6 install followed by a yum upgrade followed by a clean install of the Nvidia 9631 drivers.  I have a GeForce 4 MX 440 card.  I was still having problems with X starting.  The end of the Xorg.0.log file looked like this:

(EE) Screen(s) found, but none have a usable configuration.

So I did another clean FC6 install.

One thing I noticed with every new FC6 install is that when X started the resolution was set very, very high.  I found myself logging in and setting the desktop to 1024x768 each time.  I decided to add a Modes line to the Display SubSection like this:

Modes "1024x768"

I rebooted and X started in the lower resolution, which I liked better.

So I did another 9631 driver install and checked to make sure my Modes line was still in the new xorg.conf file afterwards.  I rebooted again and now things seem to be working with the new Nvidia driver.

Things shouldn't be this difficult.
