Jarod didn't mention if he was using XvMC, but it does seem like
there are some apparently conflicting results with HD, no doubt due
to the many variables involved in "tuning". Jarod has said many times
that an AMD 3000+ CPU should work fine for HD.
I was simply pointing out that the CPU that AMD was suggesting might
not be the best choice. You could certainly put a faster and/or a
dual-core one in there. I would definitely not take my hardware
advice for a Myth system from AMD or any other vendor not involved in
Myth in any way, and whose advertising says they "Recommend Windows
Vista".
That mobo probably *would* run Myth, you just wouldn't be able to
take advantage of some of the features which presumably add to the
cost. Certainly if you could pick it up cheaply enough it might be a
viable solution.
