Ahh actually Brian that's where you are wrong.
When you consider the massive 'ecosystem' of users/partners and
developers that the Asterisk open source community has built up around
itself MythTV is actually doing pretty poorly (considering they both
started off around the same time).
But to be honest it's tracking exactly where 'Dev' attitudes like yours
suggest it should be - having a party in your arse with room for more.
The EPG issue is something that 'should' be left alone for the devs to
work out and it should/will take time to resolve, but 'petty ownership'
issues like you just demonstrated shows how far 'off' a really thriving
MythTV community could be run.
