Don't want to have two drives for quiet&cool reasons.  I did have lvm
but I just tried an upgrade, breezy to feisty, witch went wrong.  I
think it was the extra complexity of lvm that caused the problem.  If
I want a bigger drive I probably will copy everything onto it and sell
the old one anyway.

All is not lost as I managed to mount the lvm drive on my main box and
am currently copying everything off it.

Also the Ubuntu install did not help me when it came to creating
multiple lvm groups, I ended up with everything under a group called
root;(
