You might be interested to know that I eventually noticed that BBC HD
when watched Live or from a Raw recording reports a bitrate of 500Kb/sec
(Not ! ) but after the remuxing shows the true 16-19000Kb/sec. I was
wondering if this was what was causing the dropped frames, and why
remuxing repaired it. While I was messing with that I found that the bit
of code which I think adjusts the ringbuffer seems to always ignore
bitrate anyway :-( SO not sure I actually understand it.

However - back to the point.....

After the last ffmpeg sync, the dropped frame stuttering seems to have
gone. (Bitrate still reported as 500K so perhaps irrelevant).
Unfortunately current SVN seems to segfault regularly while watching BBC HD.

regards,

John
