Yes, I _know_. The _point_ is that there are people who are simply
not going to do that. Even with a helpful note as they subscribe to
the mailing list. The _suggestion_ is to stop them at the door with a
little _helpful_ moderation, rather than the mass sodomization
(justified or not) when someone posts an FAQ.
Or were you talking about me? Because even there, I consider the
"quarantine all new subscriber posts" to be a much better solution
than "filter all the posts I don't like": 1) People get their
questions answered. 2) Nobody gets wound up at another post with an
easy answer 3) Less network traffic 4) Less filtering (meaning, maybe,
more eyes on the hard problems).
