[mythtv-users] DTS Passthrough with Internal DVD player not working

I could never get DTS working under edgy. After upgrading to feisty it
magically started working. But there are other problems with alsa under
fiesty with my on board intel sound chipset. I get a really scary sounding
pop when switching from pro logic to a digital only sound stream. I'm
considering trying to compile alsa myself but have yet to try it.

Unless you REALLY what DTS, its problaby not worth it. I can never really
tell the difference between DD and DTS and I have a descent set up.

Good luck,
Jon

Subject: [mythtv-users] DTS Passthrough with Internal DVD player not working

Hi everyone,

Up until now I had been using mplayer to playback dvd's on my mythtv setup.
I recently updated my mythtv install to a newer build and decided to try
using the internal player again. It seems to work well except I cannot get
DTS passthrough working at all.

I compiled and built mythtv with DTS output enabled. I have libdts-dev
installed. And I have Enable DTS Passthrough option checked in mythfrontend.
Dolby digital passthrough works great and DTS passthrough works fine in xine
and mplayer. Not sure what else to check at this point. The only thing in
the log I have is this:

AFD Error: Could not find decoder for codec (DTS), ignoring.

What happens is it then outputs Dobly Pro-Logic instead of DTS. If I switch
to Dolby Digital 5.1 that works ok. It's just DTS that is not working for
whatever reason. I am running Trunk build 13514M and it is reported as being
0.20.20070327-1. This is running on ubuntu edgy.

Thanks for any insight in advance. I will revert to mplayer for now.

Kevin
