--------
When I got home I rebooted into windows briefly (had to give a final
farewell to WoW, I'm FREE at last!! :-) ), anyway, I booted back into
Fedora tried to start my mythfrontend, X crashed and gdm presented me
with a login screen. I remembered seeing the nvidia-graphics-helpers
update earlier so I tried "glxinfo" and X crashed again.

Then I looked at the timestamp on the xorg.conf file and it was 16:50
something I believe. So I opened it and under the Section Files there
were 3 blank lines where the above mentioned were. I don't mean the
lines were deleted, I mean they were empty, kind of odd. So I put them
back, telinit 3 && telinit 5, and everything is working again.

Sorry I jumped to the nvidia-graphics-helper package as a conclusion, it
may very well have been that xorg-x11-server-Xorg package.

Mike
