That error message comes from mtd (if you start it before configuring
MythDVD).  I don't know why it would show up in your mythtv-setup output.

However, the message is saying you haven't specified a value for a
setting (set through the frontend settings in the MythDVD area).  It
doesn't say anything about missing tables.  Have you tried actually
configuring your system with mythtv-setup and then mythfrontend?

Perhaps something is auto-starting mtd and directing its log output to
the same location you have mythtv-setup's log output and it's just
confusing the issue because you haven't finished configuring your system.
