Chandi,
I had a Toshiba HD CRT as well (a 26HF84) and I used it for 2 years
via DVI-HDMI adapter (you'll get way better picture than using s-video)
At first I had to find the right modeline, but now the nVidia drivers
are mature enough to auto-detect it. I used mine with a 720p ATSC
modeline I found on nvnews forums
I think they put that in so that they don't have to field the tech
support calls when it doesn't work, that tv is quite picky about the
frequencies it gets.
I'll be happy to help with xorg.conf if you need it, I still have ssh
access to the myth box attached to it.
