Nice idea, some folks people prefer using forums to mailing lists;
search facilities, grouping by topic, etc. Over time, perhaps some of
the experts will frequent there, too...

However, can I suggest that you allow people to, at the very least,
_read_ the forum without registration - you will encourage more use
that way. Anonymous posting helps encourage occasional use, too. Even
the mythtv trac allows that!
