[mythtv-users] Prebuffering pauses when fast forwarding

I'm seeing alot of these prebuffering pauses when I fast forward or
rewind playback video. Basically if I hit fast forward 3x during
playback the video will speed up for a few seconds then pause, I then
bump up the speed to 5x and get a few more seconds till the next
pause... and so on. Using this method I usually make it through the
commercials that weren't successfully flagged. Although it kind of kills
the GAF.

I saw this behavior for several weeks on SVN 13756, and after upgrading
to Axel's 14051 packages yesterday the issue still remains.

I have no idea if my problem is the same as this (
http://svn.mythtv.org/trac/ticket/3690) bug. The title of that one seems
to suggest its a problem with only ivtv recordings. I see this on both
my ivtv recordings and my mpeg2ts firewire recordings.

I put the 'noapic' option in grub of my backend and my frontend but
still no improvement.

Just wondering if there is anything I should try on my system to solve
this before chalking it up as a bug and waiting for the devs to get a
chance to work on it. I'm afraid I lack the skills to solve such a thing
on my own, but I'm more than willing to provide info and testing. :-)

Thanks
Mike
