No idea if mine is the same problem as yours, but I had random lockups
as well. Not failures, but processes getting wedged in a "D" state.

I turned off cpufreq scaling(cpuspeed on fedora) and rebooted. Its
been stable for 2 weeks so far while it used to die every 3-4 days.
