Not yet.  There are parallelization patches floating around for ffmpeg
to allow it to do so.  AIUI, Janne is hoping to get them into Myth
before 0.21 is released if the timing for ffmpeg's update works out. 
(Remember that updating your system ffmpeg with those patches will have
no effect on Myth as Myth uses its own version of the libraries.)
