[mythtv-users] backend dies when frontend quits (on singlemachine)

Ok....here is a trace (verbose) output from a mythbackend once I exit the
front-end (at which time MythWelcome reappears on screen, with an error
message that says can't connect to backend.)
Obviously the backend is shutting down when I exit MythFrontend (before
control returned to MythWelcome). This feels & smells like a stupid setup
bug on my part.
Any ideas on why the backend stopping? (What the HandleRemoteEncoder error
all about)
