[mythtv-users] Frontend can't connect to backend on system start

I have a simple Myth installation (front & backend in one).  Often on system
startup, the myth frontend complains that it can't connect to the backend.
After enough reboots all will work fine again.
 
By ssh'ing into the box, I see that the backend is in fact running, while
the front end is complaining about can't connect.
 
Any ideas?
