Their "secrecy" is probably:

Not wanting to release preliminary, and thus almost certainly incorrect,
information.

A condition imposed by one or more of the bargaining parties (extremely
common in industrial negotiations).

Wanting to get on with the business of life, and not spend it all
"informing" users who have already been told that a solution will be
announced when and if it is arrived at.

Anybody else notice the "real soon now" post yesterday from a member of
the XMLTV team?
