Just for the record: That is specific for Nvidia cards (like the OP 
has). For other cards, there are other options. See the man-pages for 
the driver that you are using. To find out which driver gets loaded, 
check the log-file, most likely /var/log/Xorg.0.log. Also experiment 
with different combinations of rendering settings in Myth and modules 
loaded in X. On general principle one should at least test with the 
proprietary drivers, the open drivers and framebuffer drivers. Maximum 
bells and whistles enabled does not always get the best raw 2D rendering 
performance.
