[mythtv-users] Twinview CRT + TV and Domain panning

First: I tried the panning domain settings : Option "MetaModes" "1024x768,800x600 at 1024x768") but the same thing happens: CRT is fine at 1024x768 the TV seems to have a lesser (800x600) resolution, but shows only the left-upper part of the screen.

What I'm trying to accomplish is this:

1) Have my CRT and the TV working at the same time
and
2) Have two different resolutions: CRT at 1280x1024 and TV at 1024x768 (I know I put 1024x768 and 800x600 in the first post, I only choose those to test things out.)

I know I might have to set up 2 screens in xorg.conf, but it looks like twinview can achieve this, from what I could read. But actually never saw a confirmed case.

If I run both screens at the same resolutions everything is fine. (twinview = CLONE) But I want to set the CRT at 1024x768 and the TV at 800x600. I can almost feel the victory: with my current xorg.conf file I get the TV not showing everything (only the 800x600 left-upper corner of the 1024x768 I'd say).
First off: No, I don't know anything about panning domain, so I'll be of no help to you there. What are you trying to accomplish, though? Do you want the entire desktop of the CRT (1024x768) to show up on the TV? To do that you just need to set the resolution of the TV "screen" to 1024x768. If you wanted to accomplish the same thing at higher desktop resolutions, I don't know how you would accomplish it, but the nvidia driver does support a 1024x768 desktop on the TV out. -chris-- TV/IT EngineerWCJB-TV Gainesville, FL(352) 377 2020 x248cribe at wcjb.com
