I was using the HDHR IR receiver for a few months but for some reason
I would get multiple key presses a lot. If the button was held down
on the remote, instead of lirc seeing the signals for channel up (or
whatever) in sequence as 0,1,2,3,4,5 the sequence would restart like
0,1,0,1,2,0,1 so that lirc's repeat settings didn't work right.

Well I had an old PVR card whose tuner had busted that I threw in my
front end last night and switched back to that and it's working much
better.

What I do like about the HDHR ir receiver is that I use it to turn on
my mythfrontend. My HDHR boxes are in the living room with the front
end. One of them is configured to send its IR signals to the
mythbackend upstairs which is always on. The power button is
configured to go to the mythbox upstairs, and irexec is configured to
send a wake on lan packet to the frontend downstairs. All so we don't
have to walk 10 ft (20 round trip).
