[mythtv-users] Stuttering video and audio with MythDVD

Are you sure XvMC is unecessary?  I thought that turning this on simply
tells the GPU to handle motion compensation instead of the CPU. 

Wouldn't turning it off make the image worse?

Joel,

XvMC is a solution for systems that lack the horsepower to decode the video
output.  XvMC comes with a whole lot of baggage (problems fast
forwarding/rewinding, OSD limitations and reliability problems).

With your current CPU, there should be no reason to use XvMC.

If you turn it off and have any stuttering, then you need to optimize your
system.  You do that by looking at your log files.  There are a lot of
answers in the wiki and the archives.  And, as always, google is your
friend.
