In my mind, patching myth is definitely the way to go. However, what I
would REALLY love is to have all these features combined into a somewhat
more unified system... in the end, what makes Myth so useful is the
ability to push streams of data around for playback... Myth already does
some of what things like MPD and Slimserver do, just with a different
media type (i.e. video+audio vs. audio).

It would be great if we could leverage/extend the existing streaming
infrastructure to cover other media types as well. It would remove the
dependency on an external service, and lend itself to future integration
(internet radio while watching tv...).

   Just brain storming...
