It could be due to the XMLTV configuration files not being in the
place MythTV expects them. I believe your <sourcename>.xmltv files
should reside in ~/.mythtv (where ~ is the user that mythbackend is
being run with). You should have a .xmltv file for each video source
you have defined in mythtv-setup, with the correct <sourcename>.xmltv
naming convention.

When running MFDB in a cron job (which I still do) there is no
limitation on where the config files are placed because you can
specify them on the command line yourself - however in the case of
MythTV, they need to be a) where MythTV expects to find them, and b)
correctly named, otherwise the grab will fail.
