If you're willing to get stuck into the code, I suggest you look at
some of the recent svn commits that add support for series linking etc
on Freeview (part of the newish Freeview Playback standard).

I'm not sure if all channels have implemented it yet though - I think
Ch 4 and 5 were due to do so in 'first quarter 07'
