Jarod,

I know you've been tinkering with both OS X and Fedora on that mini - what
are you running on it most of the time?  The reason I ask is that I
noticed that OS X on my mini really performed poorly when swapping.  I
don't know if there's something wrong with the OS X virtual memory
implementation, but I don't remember the last time an OS dragged like
that.*

I bumped it up to 2GB, and now I see that I'm not using a whole lot more
RAM than the 512 it came with unless I've got lots of things going on - it
was like a magic elixir though, the machine is usable now - in fact it's
quite snappy.

Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that if you're on the fence about it,
err on the side of more RAM, but I guess that's just common wisdom anyway.

* Maybe my first windows 95 box with 24MB of RAM.  Maybe. ;)
