[mythtv-users] cable frequencies changing - scripting

Next week my cable provider is changing all the channel frequencies.
Normally I'd use the mythweb interface to update them, but this time
I'll be on holiday. What I plan to do is dump the channel table into a
file, update this file to the new frequencies, and then set an at job
for the appropriate time to do

mysql mythconverg < newchannel.sql

I have some questions:

Should this work?
Will I need to restart the backend afterwards?
Or is there a better way to do this?
