Hi,

Hacked together a gaim perl plugin that does the following:

- Send Gaim buddy sign on information to the mythfrontend (only visible when
watching tv or recorded, dvd using Internal player)
- Send Gaim received IM messages from buddies to the mythfrontend (only
visible when watching tv or recorded, dvd using Internal player)

It uses the mythtvosd program with the scroller template, so every time a
buddy signs on or sends a message to you while you are watching tv it
scrolls
from right to left in the bottom of your tv screen. Same goes for received
IM messages.

I have a linux desktop in another room than the mythtv frontend, now i can
see who is signin in and chatting to me without
getting up everytime i hear the sound from gaim coming from the other room
:)

Currently its set up to broadcast, but it's is easily adaptable to send only
to one frontend.

just copy the file to ~home/.gaim/plugins/ and restart gaim, goto tools -->>
plugins and select MythTV OSD plugin.
