Well at least you now know it is making a bad recording, probably. To  
be absolutely positive you should try and play a known good file.

Is this happening on every channel? If it's only happening on a  
couple channels, particularly 4 and/or 5, you probably have the  
frequency table set incorrectly (ie" cable instead of HRC or vice  
versa).

If it's happening on every channel check your audio encoding  
parameters, but you may have a defective card, any chance of trying  
another one?
