I think something is not working well.

When I use mplayer and press "F", the video doesn't resize.

I use kerneldeint interlacing and ffmpeg decoder, or kerneldeint and mpeg2 decoder, quality varies but still has some issues.

I was using ATI drivers from Ubuntu Edgy. I tried yesterday night to install the lastest driver from ati.amd.com over the ones Ubuntu provided. I followed the instrunction form Ubuntu wiki, but I think I did something wrong because I can't log into my system now.

I don't think if it would be faster to re-install the system than to discover the problem.

Santiago

Timīs right, but I would also suggest that you try kerneldeint interlacing.

ATI linux driver can be found here, your card is probably running the vesa driver wich is not very good imho.

You really need to get the accelerated binary drivers for your video
card installed and working. That makes the biggest difference in any
Myth install from my experience. you need to research if there are any
accelerated drivers for your laptop's built in video.
