If you have a DviCO Fusion HDTV turner card, or any other card that uses a
cx88 for capture of analog video, you may have noticed that when you first
tune to an analog channel, there is no sound.
For discussion, please see

Anyway, I've attached a kernel patch for drivers/media/video/cx88 that seems
to resolve this issue. Your Mileage May Vary. Please don't use it if you
don't like the looks of it.

P.S.

What is a kernel patch you ask? Ummm... well... It's a modification to the
driver that is built as a module for (or built into) the operating system.
Kinda hard-core thing to do. But if you have lots of time, free computer
space, and no need for a working machine for quite some time, google "how to
patch your kernel" with keywords for your distribution. Also note that you
will need to manually patch, build and install all your kernels in
perpetuity if you want to keep these changes.
