[mythtv-users] problem with backend not recording?

Hello--

Recently my mythbackend has been having problems where the backend
believes it is recording something, but no file is being created, or
just a 0-byte file. To recover, I generally have to restart
mythbackend (to force it to retry the recording), or completely stop
it, rmmod/modprobe cx88-dvb, and restart mythbackend.

I am going to guess this is a driver or hardware problem, but I'm
curious if anyone has experienced this phenomenon.

I have two HD-3000 cards receiving broadcast HDTV. They are about 2
years old (Feb 2005). Has anyone started experiencing wear-and-tear
hardware failure related to these things?
