THanks for the tip, checked out the howto and mad the appropriate  
mods. However this is happening on the backend if I fire up x and  
attempt to watch tv. Recordings also have this problem
Tried setting pci latency as well to no avail as i cant get the sata  
controllers to respond to setpci.  however I moved the recording dir  
to a different drive for a test with absolutely no change. Any other  
Ideas for me to track down?
