For playback, the darkscreen can be made a little more useful by
displaying the static on-screen information captured from the DVB
stream. Using the 'Normal' recording type should capture this.

I have to admin that I do all of my A/V editing on my W2K machine. For
audio, I use ProjectX to fix and demux the audio and then use
mp3directcut to edit and losslessly cut the recording.
