[mythtv-users] What does the mythtv-vid branch and OpenGL renderer have to offer

Will the updates in the mythtv-vid allow OSD notifications (from mythtv-osd)
to be visible at all times, including when the menus are displayed?

If not what changes would be needed to allow mythtv-osd notifications to be
visible at all times? I would love Myth to support this, however I think it
may be a bit more complicated than it seems. Can anyone knowledge comment?
