If you refrain from posting general Linux issues here then it keeps  
the list uncluttered & we can better help in future when you come to  
post problems which actually relate to the MythTV software.

It's really unnecessary to log in to KDE as a root user - it really  
encourages bad habits such as surfing the web or going on IRC as root  
"whilst waiting for that file to copy".

You're better off simply running `sudo konqueror` if you really need  
to drag & drop files as root. Be warned to keep an eye on file  
permissions - not so much a problem when dragging & dropping files  
into c:\windows\system32
